Rays vs. Cubs
-1½ -115 at CIRCA
After Stroman’s masterful complete game shutout against the Rays on Monday night the Rays will be looking for payback. With lefthander McClanahan taking his undefeated 1.97 ERA to the mound against veteran Hendricks, it should be no contest. Hendricks in his recent callup, returning from IR, only lasted 4.1 innings and unless he has made incredible strides in 5 days of rest, he should be no match for McClanahan. And if he doesn’t last, the Cubs bullpen won’t be able to bail him out as it has been abysmal the last 5 games with an ERA north of 6.
The Rays batting has been at the top of the majors all season and should be raring to go after being frustrated by Stroman Monday night. The Cubs are only .214 against lefties so this should be no contest. Take the Run Line and go with the Rays in this one.
